Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks


We've heard great things about the beef cheeks from Brooklands Free Range Farms. Here's a recipe direct from the farmer, Natalie Hardy.

You can also use Osso Bucco or any of the other slow cooking beef varieties from Brooklands Free Range Farms

  1. 1 kg beef cheeks or Osso Bucco
  2. 300g  mushrooms ( I used wild field mushrooms)
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 1 cup  red wine
  5. 2 carrots chopped
  6. 1 brown onion chopped
  7. 1 clove garlic crushed
  8. 2 bay leaves
  9. 1 tbs. tomato paste 
  10. 1 tbs olive oil
  11. 1 tbs. cinnamon
  12. 1 tsp. fresh thyme
  13. 1 tsp. fresh oregano
  14. 1 tsp. fresh rosemary

 

Throw it all together in a SLOW Cooker and cook on low for 8 hours, I did mine in the morning and was ready for dinner that night.

Serve with Mash and greens such as blanched broccoli, beans or asparagus.
